This series is one of the best I've read! The combination of SyFi and romance is perfect ... The love scenes are very sexy, and filled with emotion, as well. Enough feelings that really touch me; rather than just trying to write "hot sex scenes." (Although they are that as well!)I fell in love with each woman, and every man in this series. The men are incredibly sexy, loyal, and powerful. Most of them are warriors; but the two who aren't are still really imposing. And very sexy!
Did I mention how sexually appealing she writes all of her male heroes? *sigh* They ALL hold a special place in my heart; and any romantic will understand exactly what I'm saying! :)
On the planet Garulax, the ratio of women to men is low, so it's tradition to have "triad" marriages. Two men per woman. Earthing Lindsey's chosen husbands, Zadal and Baruk, are as different from as night and day, literally. Zadal is a blonde and Baruk has deep, almost black hair.
The differences don't stop there. Zadal had a horrible, tragic childhood, and as a result is a social pariah. He swore that no one would ever be able to hurt him again, he refuses to let anyone into his heart. He raised himself to a position of strength and power ... The love scenes are incredibly hot and sexy, and true to Michelle Howard's style, also really romantic.
Lindsey changes their hearts, and loves each of them for different reasons. But just when they're settled and happy with the Triad marriage, a tragedy changes everything. Lindsey is kidnapped and sold into the same Marenian sex slave ring as the other woman!
When she finally escapes, she hears terrifying news about one of her husbands - could it be true? Did she really lose her heart to a monster?
This is a great, fascinating book, and I highly recommend it! But to be able to enjoy it the way it was written, you should really read the first two books in the series.

OK... I liked this one better than #2... BUT.. BUT.. without sounding like I crave violence... I thought Lindsey's kidnapping, was going to be way more than her just skipping town w. Smiki....IDK, but, the beginning felt slow ( and a bit high school) and the ending felt rushed.
AND again.. some things, didn't make sense.. when she was missing .. they get drunk and go to sleep... REALLY? I think not. Didn't once think of Zumei may have done something, they both did not like him, IDK one of these men should have been controlling enough to make sure she left w. a bodyguard... and... at least. knew she was leaving the house to go to a city.
....Getting kidnapped, starved , beaten, sold, to sex slaves, but somehow not raped... (hm)... you put your trust in this stranger...
..but not contacting Faye.. It felt like, they kept calling each "friend"... then you would trust your friend over a stranger.
did i mention I did like this one? lol

I have been enjoying all the books in this series but was a little worried about how dark this book would get has Lindsey had been in the hands of the slavers through out the other books.
We get the romance before she is taken and the contrast of the two heroes to her sunny personality is lovely. The falling in love with each hero and they with her is charming journey. The heroes do not have a sexual relationship but there is a nice adversary to friends to family arc here.
Lindsey shows grit in her captivity and the cast of characters widens and is a great deal of fun.
The who done it part could be better and more satisfying and the delay in the return a bit vexing but overall this is a good science fiction romance with fine world build, love story, and characters.
Lindsey's Rescue is the 3rd book in this series, after "Torkel's Chosen" and "Arak's Love". Each is a stand-alone book that deals with a woman from a future Earth, where women outnumber men 10 to 1, due to a virus that swept the planet. The women in the books have chosen to migrate to another world to find a husband. It turns out that 90% of the alien species are compatible with Earth women and want them for cherished wives, since there seems to be a shortage of females on the alien planets.
Lindsey has chosen the planet of Garulax where a woman and 2 men form a Triad marriage. When she attends a "meet and greet" gathering, she is having problems with her implanted translator and either by choice or accident, has turned down almost every man in the room. She decides to take the bull by the horns and asks 2 men to be her husbands. Little does she realize that both are Senate Leaders and don't usually agree on matters, one is a bastard and the other is one of the richest men on the planet. But surprisingly, both agree.
There are numerous twists and turns in the plot, which I won't give away, as the three finally reach their HEAs. You'll enjoy the story more if you don't read ahead (which I sometimes do, but didn't in this case) to see just exactly how they manage to get there.
There is still the problem with the author's confusion as to when to use "passed" or "past", which I hope she manages to correct at some point. Other than that, I didn't see many (any?) other grammatical errors or spelling errors. Of course, the book was so good and I was flying through the pages so fast, that I may have missed them. There was some violence, some profanity and some of the best sex scenes I've read in quite a while. So if any of those things bother you, you may not want to read this book. As for me, I'll be on first thing in the morning to get the next book in the series!
